Universidades de 4 años

Así que hace un par de semanas hablamos sobre colegios universitarios / juniors. Hoy vamos a hablar de universidades de 4 años. Una universidad, según la definición de Merriam Webster, es “una institución de educación superior que proporciona instalaciones para la enseñanza y la investigación y está autorizada para otorgar títulos académicos”.

En otras palabras, si quieres una licenciatura, finalmente te graduarás de una universidad. Puedes comenzar en esa escuela y completar los 4 años allí o puedes transferirte de un colegio comunitario después de haber completado tus primeros 2 años de conceptos básicos y terminar tus dos últimos en la universidad.

Hay diferentes tipos de licenciatura que puedes ganar:

  1. Licenciatura en Ciencias (BS) = su curso se realizó principalmente en un área específica de ciencias
  2. Bachillerato en Artes (BA) = su curso fue principalmente en el área de humanidades
  3. Licenciatura en Bellas Artes (BFA) = su curso se centró en estudios intensivos de arte y diseño
  4. Licenciado en Administración de Empresas (BBA) = su curso estaba en un área de negocios

(Tengo una licenciatura en artes (BA) de Comunicación 😉)

También es IMPORTANTE TENER EN CUENTA que hasta que te hayas graduado con un GRADO DE BACHILLERAS, ¡eres considerado UN GRADO!

Algunas universidades ampliamente conocidas son: Texas A&M University, Stanford University, Florida State University, etc.

4 year universities

So a couple of weeks ago we talked about community/junior colleges. Today we are going to talk about 4 year universities. A university, as defined by Merriam Webster, is “an institution of higher learning providing facilities for teaching and research and authorized to grant academic degrees.”

In other words, if you want a bachelor’s degree, you will ultimately graduate from a university. You can start off at that school and complete all 4 years there or you can transfer in from a community college after you have your first 2 years of basics done and finish your last two at the university.

There are different types of Bachelor’s that you can earn:

  1. Bachelor of Science (BS) = your coursework was mainly in a particular science area
  2. Bachelor of Arts (BA) = your coursework was mainly in the area of humanities
  3. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) = your coursework focused on intensive art and design studies
  4. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) = your coursework was in an area of business

(I have a BA in Communication 😉)

It’s also IMPORTANT TO NOTE that until you have graduated with a BACHELOR’S DEGREE, you are considered an UNDERGRAD!

2019 Goals! / Metas de 2019!

Happy New Year everyone!!

This is my first post for 2019, woo woo! Sorry I’ve been slacking, work really picked up before the break. For 2019, my goals for this blog are to 1. be more consistent with my posts and 2. visit more colleges!

I got to watch my Aggies play (and win) at the TaxSlayer/Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, FA and on my way home, visited 2 colleges that I will write posts about soon. Check for that goal, starting off strong!

Este es mi primer post para 2019, woo woo! Lo siento, he estado aflojando, trabajo realmente recogido antes del descanso. Para 2019, mis objetivos para este blog son 1. ser más coherente con mis publicaciones y 2. ¡visitar más universidades!

Pude ver a mis Aggies jugar (y ganar) en el TaxSlayer / Gator Bowl en Jacksonville, FA y en mi camino a casa, visité 2 universidades sobre las cuales escribiré publicaciones pronto. ¡Compruebe ese objetivo, comenzando fuerte!
